Salvia patens - Sage

Fertilize Salvia patens : During autumn it’s not necessary to fertilize annual aromatic plants; as far as perennial aromatic plants let’s fertilize them only every 30-40 days.

continental : The Salvia patens needs direct sunlight, even for many hours a day.
In autumn let’s grow the the Salvia patens in the garden. These plants can’t stand the frost, therefore it’s best to shelter them from the cold by covering them with agritessuto or moving them to a cold greenhouse, as soon as the minimum temperatures go below zero.

alpine : These plants prefer very sunny locations, where they are exposed to sunrays for most of the day.
We suggest growing these plants in a sheltered place, where the minimum temperatures are above 0°C; for example it could be ideal to grow it in a cold greenhouse.

mediterranean : This plant needs to be exposed to direct solar rays.
We suggest cultivating the the Salvia patens in a sheltered place as it can’t stand frost; if the minimum temperatures should drop quickly it’s best to move the plants to a cold greenhouse.

continental : We suggest watering quite frequently, every 1-2 weeks. In this manner it will be kept fairly moist, without being soaked with water. Usually 3-4 glasses of water are used.

alpine : Watering should be done pretty frequently and regularly, but without exceeding: let’s remember to we the soil thoroughly and let it dry before giving it more water. Let’s irrigate every 2-3 weeks using 2-3 glasses of water.

mediterranean : Watering in this period of the year must be very frequent, even every 0-1 weeks, so that the soil is always slightly damp. For average dimension plants we suggest using about 4-5 glasses of water.
